Anyone wishing to build a veranda <\/a>will wonder, at some point in the process, whether or not they need planning permission. We strongly recommend that you find out all you need to know before starting any work, whether it’s a new build or a renovation. Otherwise, you run the risk of finding yourself in breach of town-planning regulations…<\/p>\n

Building or renovating a veranda in Wallonia<\/span><\/h3>\n

In Belgium, town planning is the responsibility of the Regions, so rules vary depending on where you live. So whether you live in Li\u00e8ge or Verviers, for example, you may not be subject to the same requirements.<\/p>\n

The Walloon Town and Country Planning Code<\/span><\/h3>\n

To find out what you’re entitled to do, and obliged to respect, you need to refer to the Walloon Land Development Code<\/strong>. Please note, however, that it is subject to regular modifications<\/strong>. In fact, a new Code came into force on June 1, 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
