The materials used in our verandas

Have you opted for a veranda, pergola or pool enclosure to improve your everyday comfort? With VERANDAIR®, you’ve made the choice of quality! Find out more about VERANDAIR® models .

At VERANDAIR®, quality is our priority. That’s why all our verandas, pergolas, pool enclosures, etc. are made from 6061 T6 aluminum. A lightweight yet extremely robust material, it is also used in the aeronautical industry. It also features, high corrosion resistance.

With VERANDAIR®, you can be sure of a veranda, pergola or pool enclosure that will be with you for years to come.

The structure of verandas and pergolas

The frame of our patio cover and pergolas VERANDAIR® is made of ultra-strong aluminum profiles.

Visit VERANDAIR® profiles are the property of the company and are not standardized. They are extruded through a die. All parts are treated against corrosion, inside and out. Our retractable structures are generally self-supporting.

The structures of our patio sheds are tested by an independent laboratory (Vinçotte®), which ensures snow and wind resistance. The type of profile depends on the size of the shelter and the geographical area in which it will be installed.

Structure lacquering

Visit TIGER Drylac® powder coatings are solvent-free coating materials made up of various synthetic resins, pigments and special additives to produce exceptional surface qualities. In addition, the paints offered by VERANDAIR® are QUALICOAT® label.

Powder paint is applied to the parts to be coated using an electrostatic spray device and by heating the part to between 160°C and 200°C.

Our standard colors are :

  • Deep black – RAL 9005 T – Powder code 029.80070
  • Anthracite grey – RAL 7016 A – Powder code 029.71334
  • Quartz grey – RAL 7039 T – Powder code 029.71716

These standard colors are offered here in a structured finish.

On request, we offer more than 2,500 shades and finishes.

What is the QUALICOAT® label?

This is the the world’s leading quality label for aluminum cladding. Its worldwide organization (headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland), is committed to maintaining the quality of lacquering, painting and coating on aluminum and its alloys for architectural applications.

QUALICOAT® has granted general licenses to national and international associations to issue its certificates and inspect authorized factories. These associations regularly audit (twice a year) lacquerers and check that they comply with all the requirements of the QUALICOAT® Directives.

Assembly brackets (retractable enclosures)

An assembly bracket is designed to connect profiles to each other. Their dimensions and materials are designed for maximum equivalent or greater resistance to framing herself. You’ll find them on every corner of our retractable shelters.

These brackets are made of7075 aluminum alloy. The latter (also called zicral) is an aluminum alloy with zinc as its principal alloying element. It has a strength comparable to many steels, as well as a good resistance to fatigue and routine machining. Its relatively high cost limits its use to applications where cheaper alloys are unsuitable.

Fasteners & accessories

Virtually all the accessories and fasteners that make up the our shelters is in stainless steel. Stainless steel makes the shelter easy to dismantle and maintain, even after many years.

Ground anchors (retractable shelters)

A side mounting bracket is used on every component of our retractable shelters. Thanks to chemical anchoring of the stainless steel sleeve, it is generally embedded in the ground (in a reinforced concrete sill made by the customer).

All that’s left to do is screw the stainless steel and plastic knob through the hole provided. On request, the first of these knobs can be fitted with a lock. Anchoring time is around 10 minutes for an average 5-element structure, demonstrating its high performance. made easy.

Once the structure has been anchored, it is now able to offeroptimal support to high winds andmaximum reinforcement to snow loads, as opposed to longitudinal anchoring.

Element guidance (retractable shelters)

The castors are integrated into our cross-beam profiles, which connect the shelter to the ground. polyamide wheels. They are anti-scratch and mounted on stainless steel needle bearings. They provide the shelter easy to move and a virtually no wear. Each sliding element has 8 castors, making it easy to move around.

Installed on request or at the installer’s discretion, a ground guide profile can be placed under the wheels of the first sliding element. Made of anodized aluminum, it’s built to last.

Stainless-steel screws spaced at +/- 50cm allow the unit to be fixed to the floor. It facilitates the latter and prevents the elements from twisting when the retractable enclosure is opened or closed.

Integrated counter-guides (retractable shelters)

Between the elements, a guide roller system is integrated into the structure. It connects the elements of our retractable shelters and allows them to be easily installed. simple, easy sliding. These guideways, although integrated into the structure, are invisible.

Side glazing

As standard, the walls of our shelters are made of :

  • Tempered single-glazed units 4, 6, 8 or 10mm thick;
  • 4, 6, 8 or 10mm thick laminated single glazing;
  • 4mm-thick SAN (styrene-acrylonitrile) synthetic single glazing;
  • 4, 5 or 6mm-thick PC (polycarbonate) synthetic single-glazed units;
  • Double glazing up to 17mm thick;
  • Composite panels.

On request, we can also integrate any type of infill (glazing), as long as does not exceed 17 mm in thickness and is compatible with our aluminumstructures (expansion).

Conservatory roofs

For reasons of resistance, especially to hail, the roof panels of our patio covers are generally made of polycarbonate or synthetic material.

These roofing panels are either translucent or inopaline white .

A UV protection prevents premature yellowing of the plates. In the case of pool enclosures, UV protection is applied to both sides of the roof panel, as light reflects off the pool water.

The roof panels are not screwed, but rebated and glued. A micro-perforated tape at the ends of the sheets allows them to breathe, to avoid condensation inside. Dust and insects can’t get in.

Occasionally, movements caused by the expansion of polycarbonate sheets can produce cracking noises. This phenomenon is quite common and has no impact on the performance of plates and profiles.

On request, can also integrate composite sheets instead of polycarbonate.

Guiding elements on the ground

A A system of guide rollers, integrated into the structure, links the elements together. The latter enables simple, perfect sliding of the telescopic veranda structure.

Made of anodized aluminum, the floor guide rail is made to last. Stainless-steel screws spaced 50cm apart secure the unit to the floor.

Optional guide rails facilitate floor mounting and prevent the elements from twisting. Particularly discreet, they feature a rounded shape that eliminates the risk of injury. Located on either side of the shelter, the floor guides can be adapted to suit the configuration of the site. Only the first element is guided, eliminating the need to install multiple strips.

Castors are monolithic, anti-track polyamide wheels mounted on stainless steel needle bearings. They offer shelter easy to move and virtually wear-free.

Each sliding element is equipped with 8 castors, making movement easier and smoother.
